- When & where is the 2022 St. Patrick’s Parade of Washington DC?
- The St. Patrick’s Parade Committee of Washington, D.C. has announced the postponement of the St. Patrick’s Parade scheduled for March 13th, 2022. This difficult decision by the Committee Board was made due to a change in traditional funding associated with COVID-19 and new permitting regulations with the D.C Government. - What is the Parade route?
- The parade route is on Constitution Ave NW between 7th St NW & 17th St NW.
- How do I get to & park for the parade?
- Travel by Metro is recommended (Yellow/Green: Archives/Navy Memorial, L’Enfant Plaza; Blue/Orange/Silver: Smithsonian, Federal Triangle, L’Enfant Plaza; Red: Judiciary Square). Street closures will begin well before the Parade. Closure times are determined by the Metropolitan Police Department and United States Park Police. If you are driving to the Parade, you should plan as if you will be unable to cross the National Mall after 10:00 AM.

- The St. Patrick’s Parade Committee of Washington, D.C., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in the District of Columbia, founded for the sole and express purpose of organizing and producing the St. Patrick’s Parade of Washington, D.C. The Committee is staffed by a dedicated group of volunteers who invest many hours year-round to raise funds and manage the myriad of logistics to produce the Parade each year. - How can I register to march in the parade?
- Any organization or person can register to march in the parade. Registration is no longer available for 2022.
- How much does the parade cost annually?
- Over $100,000 annually is needed to put on the parade. The largest cost in producing an event of this magnitude is the government-related expense of security and street closures. Each parade is planned well in advance and includes multiple meetings with neighborhood Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners, the National Park Service, and the Mayor’s Special Events Task Force among other stakeholders.
- Does the parade accept sponsorships?
- The parade is fortunate to work with many organizations, businesses, and individuals across the DMV. Sponsors have multiple opportunities to align themselves with the parade’s values, grow awareness among parade & event attendees, and help support this cherished tradition. - How can I support the parade?
- Donations for the parade are accepted online. Fundraisers and events are hosted by the Committee all year to help raise funds and awareness for the parade. In advance of the parade, donations and event attendance are the best ways to show your support for the parade. On parade day, anyone can attend, cheer on participants, and enjoy the sights & sounds of Irish American fun.

Events are hosted at pubs and restaurants across the DMV and include live Irish music, dancing, raffles, and auctions.
